Anne-Sophie Rutsaert was born in Belgium in January 1973, a little too early.
As far as she can remember, she has drawn. One day, she decided to turn it into a second job, alongside that of teacher with children in difficulty.
Her artistic career is rather self-taught.
Now she chooses to train alongside youth illustrators.
She paints in her studio house surrounded by her family, her novels and children's books. Of her dog and her cat too.
On her table are mixed acrylics, gouaches and pencils. She does not make sketches preparatory but eraser until finding the desired attitude.
The drawing is built little by little. It's a discovery for her too. The starting point can be either a general theme like "birth" or a small specific element, a pattern for example, or an armchair. The sentences are naturally mixed with the drawings. It is while painting that the words turn in her head. Often, once the illustration is complete, the message is too.
Creation is the guideline of her life; mountains her little paradise.
